5. Wipro

Azim Premji has headed Wipro since late 1960’s. The company which was a $2 million hydrogenated cooking fat company, is today a $5.7 billion revenue IT, BPO and R&D Services organization with presence in over 50 countries.

Azim Premji Foundation was institutionalized in 2001 with a vision to contribute to education that facilitates a just, equitable, humane and sustainable society. Since foundation, the foundation has worked with over 50,000 government school teachers across 8 states.

The business tycoon donated $2.2 billion, or a 12 percent stake worth 12, 300 crore, in his IT outsourcer Wipro, to his foundation which will be utilized to fund various social, not-for-profit initiatives of Azim Premji Foundation.

6. RIL

Reliance industries have been contributing to the community in areas of health, education, infrastructure development in various ways.

RIL plays an essential part in helping Government's initiative towards education of girl child. In Gujarat, under the project "Kanya Kelvani", RIL's Dahej Manufacturing Division has extended financial assistance towards education of girl child in the state.

Under the Reliance Dhirubhai Ambani Protsaham Scheme launched in 2008-09, continues to support poor meritorious students.

Reliance Industries has initiated many Community Medical Centres near most of its manufacturing units to provide comprehensive health services covering preventive, promotive and curative health care services to the community from neighboring villages.
