Frisking of Indian Diplomats
Indo-U.S. relation underwent a major setback as India protested to Washington after reports of two of its diplomats were frisked at U.S. airports. India described the searches as serious breaches of protocol. Indian ambassador to the United States Meera Shankar and Hardeep Puri, India's ambassador to the United Nations were subjected to pat-down search at U.S. airports within a span of two weeks. Climate Change
U.S. has been very critical about India's climate change policy and both the countries could never come agree on a common action plan so far. Difference of opinion on the CO2 emissions caps still remains a topic of disagreement. Latest in the series of verbal spat, Indian Environment Minister Jairam Ramesh said the U.S. response to climate change is "disappointing" when speaking at the UN-sponsored climate talks in Cancun, Mexico.
