New Macbook Pro

Apple has launched two new Macbook Pro; 13-inch and 15-inch variants. The 13-inch Macbook Pro is lighter and thinner, weighing 3.46 lbs with a thickness of 0.71-inch. It is powered by a 4th generation Haswell core processor with Intel Iris graphics. The device also has been upgraded in terms of battery life and it now runs for 9 hours while its previous version supported up to 7 hours. The exciting part is the new Macbook Pro is on sale with a slashed price of $1299 while its previous version was priced at $1499. The 15-inch Macbook Pro comes with a fifth generation Intel Crystalwell chip with 2.0GHz quad-core i7 processor. It offers 8 hours of battery life and starts shipping at a price range of $1999 while the previous version of the 15-inch variant was priced at $2199.

Both the variants are designed with Retina Display screens and according to Apple, Macbook Pro has the fastest processor till date. It has the Intel Xeon processors and dual workstation-class GPU for Graphics performance. It also has Intel Xeon E5 chipset with up to 12 processor cores along with two AMD FirePro workstation-class GPUs. Apple claims that these new range Macbooks are upto 2.5 time faster than the previous Macbooks, delivering an amazing 7 teraflops of compute power.

On the hardware front, Macbook Pro has 4 USB 3.0 ports and 6 Thunderbolt ports. Users can connect three 4k displays to the machine. The device also features PCIe-based flash storage with up to 1TB capacity that is up to 10 times faster than conventional desktop hard drives. This makes it a great device for video editing. The Macbook Pro also showcases rear-facing illumination system where the light on the rear ports helps users find the USB ports in the dark.
