The Story of India And Its Unfriendly Neighbors

Bhutan
The mutual affairs between the Himalayan Kingdom of Bhutan and the Republic of India have been traditionally close since the 1949 treaty was prepared. But India will always remain insecure as it fears for China carving its way into Thimphu as it has been working on setting up diplomatic ties with Bhutan.

Nepal
India accounts for 44 percent of Nepal’s total foreign investments as per the data available till 2012 and currently has invested in Nepal’s FDI projects. India has faced border disputes with Nepal since a very long time. The Nepal-India Joint Technical Level Boundary Committee has been working for the last 21 years on the Indo-Nepal border demarcation, but has yet not made positive changes. But though the neighbor has been close since ancient times, young Indian politicians are having no rapport with their Nepalese politicians. This has been a major shift from the earlier political generations of both countries.
