Narendra Modi
Narendra Modi, the Chief Minister of Gujarat may be one of the most criticized Politian of recent times. But he is another “social” celebrity who has been active in the social networks, long before they gained today’s popularity. His YouTube channel, started way back in 2007 has more than 17000 subscribers and his Twitter and Facebook accounts have 969,449 and 867097 followers respectively.
He was way ahead than other politicians in realizing the power of social medias. Considering his number of followers in social networks, he is indeed successful with his posts targeting the youth of the country. His updates are mostly inspiring quotes of Swami Vivekananda and scriptures, as well as information about his recent activities. Recently he became the first Indian politician to use Google+ Hangouts to interact with people. Most notably, he is a person who stands against internet censorship and has strongly criticized the government’s move to block Twittter handles, following the recent northeast exodus.
