# Internet of Things will enable physical and physiological damage: One of the biggest threats is when all the IoT IP addresses have configuration errors. Companies which allow their devices on their networks can be accessed by anyone with internet connectivity, where the default settings can be accessed and devices with IP like printers and web cams can be controlled. They can also access the heating and cooling systems which can also be a possible target attack.

# Internet of Things will exacerbate the volume, stealth and persistence of online attacks: The increase in IoT addresses on the enterprise network creates more targets and hackers, making it difficult for the IT security services to manage.

"The challenges are around volume, stealth and persistence of attacks," said Kevin Epstein, vice president of advanced security and Proofpoint. Even with current campaigns, attackers are able to relatively easily penetrate enterprise defenses.
