Chirimar, a doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania and Subhramaniam, who holds an MS from Vanderbilt University and BTech from IIT Madras, met each other in 2004. Since then, they have been carving out plans to come up with a quick-service restaurant chain. Their passion and devotion is expected to taste reality by this year’s Diwali, as they are planning to launch their first dosa outlet which will be known as Soho Tiffin.

To turn their dream into reality, they tied up with M Mahadevan, a Chennai based restaurateur and are planning to come up with 5 such restaurants in different locations in New York. Within the next one year, they are planning to invest $5 milion (28 crore) on their restaurants.

While talking to correspondence from Economic Times, Chirimar said that Indian food tastes hot and spicy for the Americans and this is the reason, they visits the Indian restaurant once in a week or in a month.
