New Maruti Suzuki A-Star
The A: Wind hatch back which was released in the form of a concept model at the auto show in Europe is going to be Maruti’s all new A-Star. Maruti is planning to come out with few changes in the concept version for the Indian market and is expected to replace its older version along with the Estilo.

The A-Star is expected to come out with a new 800cc diesel engine, which will produce 70 to 75bhp and 150 to 170Nm of torque. It will have the same transmission options that are in the current A-star.
The petrol versions will sport the same engine but the company is planning to give more options in the diesel variants like it has on the Swift and the Ritz.

The new A-star will be priced at 3.850 to 4.940 lakhs and it may also increase 10,000 to 20,000 more than that of its current model and will be competing with Hyundai Santro Xing, Chevrolet Beat, Nissan Micra Active and the Tata Indica V2.

Tata Nano Diesel
Tata is all set to unveil the diesel version of Nano in 2014. The diesel model of the Nano is expected to be priced at 2.4 lakh for the basic version and the top version will cost around 3.25 lakh.

As it will be the same 800cc three cylinder engines, the diesel variant is expected to produce 42.9bhp and significantly higher torque, the fuel efficiency is said to be over 30kmpl but the company has not claimed that yet.
