Diesel Honda City

The Japanese auto maker Honda launched its much awaited 4th generation Honda city diesel variant with a price ranges from 7.42 – 11.10 lakhs coupled with ARAI tested mileage of 26 kmpl per liter. Honda also revealed that after its launch in November last year it has already received 9,000 pre bookings and 70 percent in that is only for the diesel variants and rest for the petrol ones.

The new City is being offered with two sets of engines and gearbox options. The diesel variant is powered by 1.5 litre i-DTEC engine that gives out 98bhp and 200NM of torgue, while the petrol variant is retained version with few tuning changes that comes with 1.5- litre i-VTEC engine producing 119bhp and 145Nm of torque. The diesel version is fitted with a six-speed manual and petrol with five speed manual CVT gearbox.

The petrol and diesel variants are available in five versions namely E, S, SV, and VX and automatic transmission is available in SV and VX model only for petrol variants.

The new version of Honda City is set to compete with Hyundai Verna, ford Fiesta, Skoda Rapid, Nissan Scala, Volkswagen Vento and all others that belong to the sedan class.
