Car Of The Week: Toyota Camry Hybrid

Bangalore: Japanese auto giant Toyota has launched its all new Camry Hybrid in India, the first ever hybrid car to be locally manufactured in the country.

The Camry Hybrid combines a newly developed hybrid exclusive 2.5 petrol engine with an electric motor and runs on 'Hybrid Synergy Drive', which senses when to switch between the two power sources - petrol engine and electric motor. It delivers a mileage of 19.16 kmpl.

Exterior:

Camry Hybrid wears the same skin of regular Camry, except for a new bumper that sports wider air damp and refreshing fog lamp cluster tinted with chrome. Other updates include hybrid-specific 17 inch alloy wheels and low profile rubbers along with little blue badges that mark ‘hybrid’ on quarter panels and also in the front grill.

Interior:

Being an entry level luxury car, Camry hybrid focuses more on rear passengers. The electrically adjustable rear seats can be reclined upto eight degrees, providing a comfort ride. Adding to it, there are seperate climate control for rear passengers and also electrically powered rear sunblind. The control buttons for adjustments are located in the rear armrest.

The front area of cabin also gets separate climate control and cooled seats for both driver and co-driver. Apart from this, the interior is roomy and comfortable with supportive seats, elegant dashboard and steering with wood inserts and stitching.
