Mindblowing Stories Behind 10 World Famous Tech Logos
#4 Motorola:
Paul V. Galvin and his brother, Joseph, founded the company in 1928, then known as ‘Galvin Manufacturing Corporation” in Chicago, and it named as ‘Motorola’ in 1947.
Motorola means "sound in motion." This indicates the company’s first venture in to radios, which were a craze at that time with truckers. Later company plunged in to telecom.
In 1955 Motorola introduced new logo, the stylized ‘M’ insignia, which said to be like two aspiring triangle peaks arching in to an abstracted ‘M’, symbolizing progressive leadership-minded outlook of company.
Motorola's first logo had its name simply spelt in black color. Which indicated its simplicity and genuinely. In June 1955, the company got its current logo that features a modified 'M' in white color on a round black background. Not much of change in the symbolic meaning, but new logo only specifies the company’s dynamic trends. Presently such dynamism can be seen by company’s breakthrough in providing enviable Android smart phones.
