#7 Yahoo: The website started as "Jerry and David's Guide to the World Wide Web" taking after the name of founders David Filo and Jerry Yang but soon changed it to ‘Yahoo’ which stands for "Yet Another Hierarchical Officious Oracle," but Jerry and David insist they selected the name because of its definition: "rude, unsophisticated, uncouth."

The first logo Yahoo adopted is jumping ‘Y’ guy, designed by David Shen an employee. The logo shows a person jumping out of joy upon finding his content on Yahoo and the blue circle enclosing ‘Y’ represents world.

Later Yahoo came up with a horizontal logo, with purple color, which gave a sense of rising energy with.

Recently yahoo adopted a logo, with full letters ‘Yahoo’ in purple, this color is selected for it meant a great deal to David Filo, and all the offices adorn this color, symbolizing uniqueness. Now this logo could be spotted on web pages, offices, ads, and every where else where one can find Yahoo’s presence.
