Microsoft's Satya Nadella Challenges Amazon With a New Cloud Service


Nadella grew up in Hyderabad- India, where he did his bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Mangalore University, followed by a master's degree in computer science from the University of Wisconsin. The master’s degree was truly the turning point of his life. In 1992, Nadella joined Microsoft, which he proudly admits, ‘the path to his new life.’ Nadella came to Microsoft from Sun Microsystems, where he was a member of their technology staff.

Microsoft’s Cloud Challenge- A Hard Nut?

Microsoft, well-known for their traditional business, has lately realized the cloud to be a threat to their overall business, and so a few years ago they came up with a service called Windows Azure. Azure was built to rent applications like database and servers for broadcasting video. But on the other hand, Amazon came with more of kind of low cost service that offers storage space, computing time and internet connections to startups.
