Rukmani Riar cleared one of the toughest exams in her first attempt securing the second position in CSE, making her parents as well as Hoshiarpur, a town in Punjab proud. This 25 year old girl holds a Master of Arts from Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) in Amritsar and specialized in social entrepreneurship at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai.

Rukmani, an author of many papers including “Struggle with Reality: Women and their working conditions” and “Skewed Sex Ratio in India: a cause of immediate concern”, intends to help the needy by being one of the civil servants in the country. “It’s a dream come true,” she said.
