Topsy Labs, has its own data centers, and is also a certified partner of Twitter. It keeps a vast database of the tweets way back from 2006, when Twitter was founded counting to billions. The same tool is used by various global marketing, news, entertainment, and financial organizations to obtain real-time insights.

The acquisition of Topsy is thought to help Apple get a better vision on the current ending topics on Twitter, which could in turn help the company sell more advertising on their products like iPhones and iPads. Many major global companies have been eyeing on Indian entrepreneured companies including the latest news on Facebook progressing on talks for acquiring a Bangalore-based product start-up, Little Eye Labs.
