India Battles Against Cyber Crime

The experts have said that awareness about these crimes can also reduce the number of people being conned. About 60 percent of the internet population is unaware of cyber threats and do not know when their system is compromised.

Apart from the private sector the police department had also procured detective inspectors dedicated to fight this crime, they were supposed to be trained by IT professionals, and never transferred to another department. Batches of 12 loyal cyber crime detectives, apart from solving crime, were also expected to train new entries. Anyhow this system collapsed even before it took off, as the job was not found challenging enough and even the private sector dropped their support.

After the breakdown of the crime system the police relied on techies with cyber crimes as and when they required their help, it almost turned into a part time affair.

The cyber crime has exceeded to an extent that without a full time, fully fledged crime fighting team it is hard to establish total control over it. The reality being that when dealing with cyber crimes, the nation is to battle against countries like China and Pakistan which need to be tackled with more efficiency than what has been shown so far.
