Overheated Non-stick cookware
Non-stick coatings are made from a silicon base or a fluorocarbon base. These coatings are applied in a 2 or three coat process along with a sealer or topcoat. These fluorocarbons have a serious effect if overheated; the fumes are harmful if someone has asthma or other breathing problems. When these pan get hotter than 650'F, it will produce fumes which containing a suspected carcinogen. So be very careful while using these pans and don't ever allow it to fume on a hot burner for a long time.
