H1-B Visa Reforms, A Dreadful Pain to Indian IT Companies

If ingeniously looked upon, this move can be marked as a response to India’s actions against the interests of American corporations, earlier this year. The Indian government increased the tax implications upon the U.S. MNCs which made the U.S. corporations protest at large. Adding to it also was India’s latest decision to buy electronic goods from domestic manufacturers within the nation.

What’s next for India?

On the other hand, if the Immigration bill turns out be a law later on, the whole H1-B visa saga will be a big shove on Indian IT companies, who already have posted sluggish scores with lower sales growth and declining revenues. India’s IT sector which  grew about 17 percent in the 2012 financial year, slowed to 10 percent in 2012-13 and is projected to grow 12-14 percent in the ongoing fiscal.

Will this bill hurt the Indo-U.S. ongoing ties? What will be the next ‘big’ step for Indian IT? Also keeping in mind the fact that the merchandise trade between India and the US cashed $63 billion in 2012; will the numbers drop this fiscal year? Too many questions, but the answers are few!
