Global Cities That Will See Highest Water Demand by 2025

Beijing, China:

Beijing takes the fifth position on the list. The capital city is already experiencing a high consumption of water. It was seen that last year the per capita quantity of water resources in Beijing had dropped to 100 cubic meters, which is much lower than the internationally recognized water shortage warning line, 1000 cubic meters per person. Beijing also faces serious water shortage.  The reasons for it are seen to be lack of water conservation awareness, problems in the mode of using water resources and water allocation, etc. Further, now this global city will see high water demand in near future.

Buenos Aires, Argentina:

The capital of Argentina, Buenos Aires ranks sixth on the list global cities that will see highest water demand. Buenos Aires has a population of around thirteen million. The city is also known as a top tourist destination. The city is estimated to see a high demand for water in the coming years.
