A. K. Hangal, character actor remembered for his most notable roles as Ram Shastri in Aaina, as the Inder Sen in Shaukeen, as Bipinlal Pandey in Namak Haraam, as Imaam Sa'ab in Sholay, as Anokhelal in Manzil and the antagonist in Prem Bandhan had to face bankruptcy in his old age. The 95 year old was even unable to pay his medical bills as early as last year. But the Bollywood celebs like Jaya Bachchan and Salman Khan, and Cine and TV Artistes Association (CINTAA), are now helping the veteran actor off his financial crisis.
