Shah tried learning dance but he could not afford to pay the fees but looking at his enthusiasm and interest, Sandeep Soparrkar took him as a trainee for free.

It all began when one day Shah’s dance teacher needed shoes, as he had ordered for costly pair from London for 12,000 and the good was not delivered. Taking the right step forward, Shah, with all his garment factory experience, tried making shoes for his teacher with all the available material, originally from Dharavi.

The journey

His teacher was not really happy with the shoes made by Shah. He tried making them again but this again did not impress him. After rejecting the shoes made by Shah for thirteen times his teacher found something really great in the fourteenth pair. He was more impressed when he realized that the cost of pair was just 2000. With great compliments from his teacher, Shah decided to make twelve more pairs with which he slowly established a shoe-making company.

After establishing his business, Shah struggled a bit to get more customers but only until he received a call from Hindi cinema actor, Priyanka Chopra, who wanted a pair of custom designed boots. Since then there was no looking back as he is flooded with work, especially designing and making custom made shoes for stage performances, reality shows, dance events and of course bollywood celebrities including Katrina Kaif, Bipasha Basu, Farah Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Kajol, Abhishek Bachchan, Hrithik Roshan and also for international stars like Kylie Minogue.
