Finally, Microsoft Office Comes To Android, But For A Price

The strategy of the company remains incompressible as most people, if they want to use Office, may prefer to use it on devices with bigger screens like tablets, however the company is trying to push its software on small screened Smartphones.  Though there is a trimmed version of Office on iPad and Android tablets, contrary to its Smartphone version, it can’t work offline.

And finally, the Android version is no different to the iPhone version, since the software is designed for light use only, where you can view and edit an attachment sent by email, but it’s not meant to create a complex spreadsheet from scratch.

Forrester Research analyst J.P. Gownder said that by Microsoft’s decision to keep the software off iPad reach may cost the company about 1.4 billion a year in revenue, based on 10 percent of the 140 million iPad owners paying for a $100 subscription. He also added that the Office 365 competitors like QuickOffice from Google and iWork from Apple may find wide acceptance.

Where as Microsoft did not announce its plans for the another popular platform, BlackBerry.
