Facebook's 11 Biggest Launches That Didn't Impress Us

#3 Facebook's "Gifts" sounds like a good idea, but no one cared

“Gifts” sounded big opportunity for Facebook for obvious reason that the social networking site housed huge data base on users’ birthdays and their big events. The idea is to use that as a prompt to sell stuff. But till now, “Gifts” didn’t actually offer that big opportunity to Facebook. However Facebook is still expanding it and as a part, the service was launched in India on last week.

#2 What happens to Graph Search?

Facebook introduced “Graph Search”, a search engine that finds information from within a user's network of friends and additional results will be provided by Microsoft's Bing search engine. It is designed to give answers to users’ natural language queries rather than a list of links. The Graph Search feature combines the big data acquired from its over one billion users and external data into a search engine providing user-specific search results.

Graph Search though seems exciting, it not the buzz thing with users.

#1 And what about Home?

Facebook, recently released “Facebook Home”. But the launch quelled the rumors that were speculating a real Facebook mobile, the new launch turned out to be a Facebook theme for Android OS that keeps the users hooked up on to Facebook around the clock.  The hype Facebook Home generated couldn’t sustain for more than couple of days as many users preferred their Android version to stay just the way it is.
