Embrace Chaos to Succeed In the Indian Subcontinent: Ravi Venkatesan

When asked about the reason why many global companies are hesitant to enter the Indian market or have just entered in a limited way, Venkatesan reasoned the answer with India having a poor image.

Though CEOs of these MNCs know are acquainted with the demographic dividend and democracy argument, yet they are worried about the corruption, volatility, bureaucracy and volatility of India. Various scam cases like the Vodafone episode definitely doesn’t help to build the confidence. With India’s infrastructure being weak it keeps on drawing unfavorable comparisons with China. Therefore It takes lot of gut for a CEO to foresee these things and embrace the vibrancy and bet on the Indian people. He further adds, “It is very sad because so many companies are dying to come to India …we really don't have to do a lot to attract investment, we simply have to stop scaring companies away.”
