3. Mahabharat

Mahabharat is a well-accepted religious serial based on the Hindu epic Mahabharata. Broadcasted on DD national between the time period October 1988-June 1990, the series was yet another hit among the Indian audience.

Mahabharat was produced by B.R. Chopra and directed by Ravi Chopra, his son. Rajkamal, a critically acclaimed music director composed the music and the total cost of producing the series was 90,000,000.

‘’The Mahabharata is a portrayal of a society where the values collapsed and created the most violent confrontation between the forces of good and evil’’, says Ravi Chopra, producer-director of the new Ramayana on Zee TV as reported by The Tribune.
