Some banks also feel that those ATM’s that are not that used shall be closed during nights thereby reducing the amount of charges paid to the security persons. According to bankers, several state governments are demanding 24x7 security at ATMs and the cost of which is around 40, 000 a month.

Over the years, the ATM industry in the country has witnessed growth of around 26.8 percent. Now there are only 1,37,000 ATM’s in the country whereas the requirement lies up to 4,00,000.Thus there should be an improvement in the security setup.
