7. Islamic insurgency in the Philippines:

The Islamic insurgency in the Philippines refers to the political tensions and open conflicts which began in 1969 between the Jihadist rebel groups and the Government of the Philippines. Till today, war and violence continues since the insurgent groups demands for an Islamic state within the Philippines. 8. Xinjiang Conflict:

The Xinjiang conflict is an ongoing series of armed conflicts in the northwestern part of China. The native of Uighur claimed that the region, which they view as their homeland and refer to as East Turkestan, is not part of China, but was occupied by China in 1949. Since then, it was under the Chinese occupation. On the other hand, China alleged that the region has been part of China since ancient times, and it is now called Xinjiang or ‘New Territory.’ The independence effort is led by ethnically Uighur Muslim underground organizations, most notably the East Turkestan independence movement, against the Chinese government.
