Apps Developed by Indian Startups Make Studying More Fun

"Doing sums in class is boring, but with FunToot (an educational app developed by Bangalore's eDreams Edusoft) it is like a game and I have become much faster," said Prayag, a Class V student of KLE Society School in Bangalore.

"The need in education is to provide a human teacher for each student and that is impractical. But technology can help give a personalised learning experience to students," said Rajeev Pathak, 42, who cofounded eDreams Edusoft in 2010.

These startups have also caught the eye of some angel investors, "Such technology has the capability to solve some of the major problems facing Indian education, like distance learning and the scarcity of qualified teachers," said Siddharth Reddy, a member of Mumbai Angels who is on the board of eDreams.

However, human touch cannot be completely removed but these applications will make mundane tasks such as homework and class work more fun for the students and as said by Roby, when study is done in form of games, it tends to stick to the mind.
