An Egg Vendor Who Helped 45 People To Crack Civil Services Examination

“Most of my students belong to poor or lower middle class families and the services given to them are absolutely free,” said Roy in the interview.

Interestingly, Roy’s wife, Anupama Kumari has also joined him in this mission to educate the needy and the worthy. “My wife has qualified the Bihar Public Service Examination, I asked her to coach and share her experiences with my students and she readily agreed to my request,” said Roy.

Recently, one of his students Reshu Krishna secured 13th rank in the BPSC examination and has been qualified for the post of deputy superintendent of police. She and many other students like her owe it all to this man who was once nothing but a mere road-side egg vendor.

"Sir (Roy) used to teach us geography and general studies and his tips were invaluable to all of us," says Reshu Krishna. His motivating attitude is what makes these students bright and agile. “When I failed to qualify in the UPSC examination and the Bihar Police's recruitment test for sub-inspectors, Roy sir motivated me and helped me crack the state civil services examination,” says Arun Kumar who secured 390th in the same examination; based on a report by Giridhar Jha.
