Amazing Entrepreneurial Lessons From Leonardo Da Vinci

Be Your Brand!

“He who walks straight rarely falls

Da Vinci wanted to portray his works to the Royal Palace of Milan and hence he submitted his concept sketchbook to the Palace. He addressed it to the King and said- “I can construct bridges… I can demolish every fortress… I can make a cannon… I can make armored wagons that carry artillery”. He also added a side note to it that read, “I can further execute sculpture in marble, bronze or clay, also in painting I can do as much as anyone else. If any of these things seem impossible or impractical, I offer myself ready to make a trial and prove myself worthy.”

With this, Da Vinci attracted the attention of the King. This story is an eye-opener. Though Da Vinci knew he was good he had to do the talking himself to gain respect. Likewise, a startup or an entrepreneur must know how to brand himself. He must be confident and must project all his key skills boldly to gain good customers and to lure the media.
