Advices That Changed The Lives Of Successful Business Tycoons

2. Dilbert Creator: Scott Adams
# Don't Give Up

Scott Raymond Adams is the American creator of the Dilbert comic strip. He was also the author of several nonfiction works of satire, commentary, business, and general speculation.

His Dilbert series came to national prominence through the downsizing period in 1990s America and was then distributed worldwide.

Adams says that it’s a competitive world and do not give up.  "That sounds very non-profound, but let me fast forward the story. I put some comics together and sent them to magazines 14 The New Yorker, Playboy 14 but they rejected them. So I said, 'Oh well, I tried.' A year later, I get a second letter from Cassady. He’d been cleaning his office and came across my original samples. He said he was just writing to me to make sure that I hadn’t given up. And I had. So I took out my art supplies, and I decided to raise my sights."

3. Advertising Entrepreneur: Sara Rotman
# Being Comfortable Is The Enemy

After working for several years at different companies, Ratman finally decided to have one by her own. In 1996, she launched her company named MODCo, an advertising agency. Today, it’s been 17 years, and MODCo is a $90 million company.

She said that, "I don't mind working a thousand hours a week, but I do not suffer arbitrary rules lightly”. When asked about her business strategies, she said, “Only have enough cash on hand to barely survive; never so much that you are comfortable. It's important to stay scared in the beginning.”
