Janet Yellen: An American economist, Janet Yellen presently serves as the Chair of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System.  She is considered as the first women to head the Fed in its hundred year history. When asked how she felt being one of the few female central bankers in the world, Yellen replied “I really think this is something we’re going to see increase over time, and it’s time for that to happen.” Yellen’s top priority is to maximize employment. On her White House nomination, she said, "Too many Americans still can't find a job and worry how they'll pay their bills and provide for their families," reports Forbes. "The Federal Reserve can help if it does its job effectively," Yellen added.
A PhD in economics from Yale University and with a previous career as Professor of economics at University of California at Berkeley, Yellen has got a lot of academic credentials. She is said to be a woman with immense intelligence.

3. Melinda Gates: Wife of Microsoft founder Bill Gates, Melinda Gates is among the World’s most powerful women in this list. She is the co-founder of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, which strives to improve global health and education.

This initiative makes her out of the list and the only reason is ‘Its Selfless’. The primary aim of this foundation is to enhance healthcare and reduce extreme poverty globally. This foundation is controlled by three trustees primarily–Bill Gates, Melinda Gates and Warren Buffet. This foundation mainly has three wings under it namely Global Health, Global Development and United States Program.

Prior to her marriage to Bill Gates, she was an employee in Microsoft who started out as product manager, primarily developing multimedia and interactive products. Today, Gates focus is towards improving the reproductive health of women especially in developing countries.
