Playbook updated with more apps and grabs Facebook before iPad

Bangalore: RIM, the Blackberry maker is all excited about its updated tablet in the market. Blackberry's Playbook will altogether sport an upgraded operating system with tablet OS v1.0.3. The up gradation will bring diverse features to its kitty. It includes a Video Chat application and Blackberry Messenger (BBM) support via BlackBerry Bridge. The Video Chat application enables video and voice over Wi-Fi calling between BlackBerry PlayBook tablets in peer-to-peer or enterprise environments using your BlackBerry ID profile. One can experience pop - up notification when a new video call comes in. Playbook can be undoubtedly called as the best multifarious device as you can interact with applications even when video and voice over wifi is on. Video Chat supports HDMI output when in 'Mirror Mode', allowing you to display what is on your BlackBerry PlayBook tablet's screen to a larger HD television or monitor. The playbook now possesses unique feature where you can simply set 'Do Not Disturb' option when you are busy playing games or watching movie. BlackBerry Tablet OS v1.0.3 expands the BlackBerry Bridge experience to include BBM. BlackBerry smartphone users with BlackBerry Bridge enabled can now mirror their smartphone BBM on the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet's large high-resolution display over a secure Bluetooth connection. It enables chat functionality on one to one and multi persons. BBM alerts will also be available on Blackberry phone notification. BlackBerry tablet OS v1.0.3 also adds document-editing support via BlackBerry Bridge to the BlackBerry PlayBook Tablet. This means that documents sitting on your BlackBerry smartphone can now be accessed via secure Bluetooth connection, edited on the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet's and can be saved back to your BlackBerry smartphone. One can access pictures, documents, spreadsheets and slideshows via either email over BlackBerry Bridge. Blackberry has managed to be the first one to grab Facebook apps, before iPad for its playbook which will be showcased at the BlackBerry World conference later this week. Users who purchase and activate a BlackBerry PlayBook tablet on or afterMay 3rd will automatically upgrade to v1.0.3 as part of the BlackBerry PlayBook setup process. Existing BlackBerry PlayBook users will be presented with a software update notification on the BlackBerry PlayBook status ribbon.
