PMO Grants 1000 Crore To Fight Cyber Attack


The Department of Electronics and Information Technology, who is responsible for coordinating and implementing secure and integrated networks across states has proposed to set up a National Cyber Coordination Centre as part of the plan involving an expenditure of 500 crore over five years.

Apart from that, DEITY has proposed a disaster recovery cell which will include 110 technical officers for the coordination cell. The proposal includes 50 Crore to be spent over five years on Cyber Security Assurance and Certification Body and Rs 100 crore that will be needed within one year for conformance testing centers.

The security evaluation of IT and encryption products is expected to cost 100 crore within one year of sanction. The agencies central to the plan are the Department of Telecommunications, National technical Research Organization, Home Ministry, IB, law enforcement agencies, defense ministry, Defense Research and Development Organization.
