A Snoop into CES 2012
Bangalore: Las Vegas is all set for the largest consumer electronic gathering of this year -CES 2012- from January 10 to January 13, where organizers expect more than 2,800 exhibitors and around 140,000 attendees from 130 countries. This International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), a major technology trade show held on every January in Las Vegas, Nevada showcases all tech giants with their latest gadgets and gizmos along with their upcoming products.
The first CES was held at 1967 in New York City with 17,500 attendees and over 100 exhibitors. Till 1994 CES was held twice in a year, Winter Consumer Electronics Show (WCES) in January at Las Vegas and Summer Consumer Electronics Show (SCES) in June at Chicago.
The 2011 CES introduced over 100 different models of tablet from various manufacturers and was known as 'The Year of Tablets’. CES 2012 is already being called as 'The Year of Ultrabooks' as many computer manufacturers such as Acer, Toshiba, Asus, Samsung and Lenovo are all set with their new Ultrabooks models to debut in this show.
