For the past two decades, Lockridge has suffered drug problems. He was so much into drugs that for two continuous weekends, he would snort cocaine and drink whatever was around. As bad as his beatings were in the ring, the abuse he put his body through was even worse. He lived on the streets of New Jersy for almost ten years. He is not in the shape now that he used to have earlier in his boxing days. His body tilts to one side when he walks due to a stroke he had suffered earlier.
