8 Global Cities with Extreme Climate Risk

Manila
Manila, Philippines capital is the second city which possesses extreme risk to the climate change.

Maplecroft states in its analysis, “With strong economic growth of above 5 percent forecast for countries such as the Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia and India in the next few years, the relevance of climate change to populations and business in the major commercial centers should not be underplayed.”

Bangkok
Bangkok, Capital of Thailand is the third city  facing high risk to the growing change  in climate.

Over the last three years Maplecroft has been measuring all the factors related to climate change worldwide, even then there are only little visible improvements in the countries with ‘extreme risk’ cities which implies that countries are slow in making progress to battle the approaching effects of climate change. To secure the future stability of these countries they have to plan and provide more severe regulations, disaster risk reduction programmes, better education and more improved communication networks.
