3. Satta

The movie Satta is directed by Madhur Bhandarkar featuring Raveena Tandon, Atul Kulkarni, and Shri Vallabh. This movie did quite well in the box office. Satta’s story is based on a Delhi based, liberal thinker and politics hater Anuradha who later forced to stand on her husband’s position as the aspiring chief minister.

4. Gulaal

Gulaal is another political drama directed by Anurag Kashyap. Released on 13 March, the movie featured Kay Kay Menon, Raj Singh Chaudhary, Abhimanyu Singh and Deepak Dobriyal in main characters. The story of this movie is based on themes such as pursuit of power, quest for legitimacy, perceived injustice and hypocrisy of the powerful.

5. Mere Apne      

 Mere Apne is a Hindi political drama directed and written by Gulzar. It is the remake of the national award winning Bengali movie, Apanjan. This film featured legendry actors like Vinod Khanna, Shatrugan Sinha and Meena Kumari in lead roles. The movie story revolves around an old widow (Meena Kumari) who starts living with a beggar child in a poor neighborhood that will be ridden by gang wars and politicians to their own end utilize the youths of the neighborhood. This movie was really appreciated at that time because of its great political portrayal!
