6 Reasons Why Google Needs A Steve Jobs

2. Home Location Found To Be Lacking In Google Navigation

It was the days of standalone GPS devices that Google introduced its Google Maps Navigation in 2009. It offered most of the needed facilities like maps, directions, voice commands and even the traffic. But it was strange that it failed to include the most favorable feature of GPS devices- the home location. In Google Navigation you were not asked to set up your home location until May 15, 2012 when home feature got implemented to the Desktop version of Maps.

Still, the home location feature is not included in the Android, Google’s mobile OS. ‘It is okay’ that manually it is possible to enter your home location each time. But you won’t be able to use Google’s voice commands to “navigate to home” and, not to mention, to expect to be directed home in an unknown place. We don’t have the option to star “My Places” since it is not carried over to the Android version.
