6 Cloud Computing Predictions for 2013

Amazon Web Services:

Staten predicts that the year 2013 will set pace for more of an open race for the cloud computing crown. As more of vendors start competing, it’s certainly going to be a hard task for front runners like Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud Engine to hold onto their hats.

"While AWS has a 70 per cent market share, Microsoft and Google have made significant improvements to their platforms, and by the end of 2013 we fully expect to see at least three substantial OpenStack-based cloud vendors building strong positions," he said.

Mobile and the cloud:

And finally all the mobile applications will integrate with the cloud in 2013, says Staten. More mobile apps will come into existence with cloud services at its backdrop.

"Cloud plus mobile is a classic more than the sum of its parts combination," predicts Staten.
