Delhi Gangrape Protest
The gangrape of the 23 year physiotherapy student in Delhi has created a blizzard in the capital which has spread across the country. The victim was accompanied by a male companion. They boarded a bus in South Delhi, which was later learned to be a stolen bus. The driver, who stole the bus along with his five friends assaulted the women and her companion and then raped the women. The women encountered such brutality by these six men that she is in critical condition. The incident has stirred a social derange tuned into a protest questioning the safety of women in India. The protest took place at India gate and other place in Delhi which later turned violent, leading to a death of a policeman. The capital and the country are demanding more crucial and stern punishment for the accused and the government is still contemplating on the concern. The Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has assures protection for women in the country and asked to maintain peace on the matter.
