The 46-story building known as the Hearst Tower serves as the headquarter of the Hearst Corporation based at the New York City. One of the fascinating land marks of the building is the six-story cast stone base is ornamented with columns and allegorical statues.

Norman Foster designed this tower and Turner Construction constructed it. The building has a height of 182 meters and provides eighty thousand square meters of office space. It received the 'Emporis Skyscraper Award' in 2006 as the best skyscraper in the world.

More than 9,000 tons of steel was used in the construction of this tower. It is also considered as one of the eco-friendly skyscrapers in the world. The floors of this tower are one of the best features; they are embedded with polyethylene tubing which circulates temperature controlled water. Huge tanks on the roof of this tower collect the rainwater and use them for maintaining the temperature of the floor.
