Suvir Saran

Suvir Saran is a proficient chef, cookbook author, educator and a farmer who is an expert in introducing the tasty Indian dishes to the American kitchen.

A student of Visual arts, Saran enjoyed cooking and entertaining friends during his leisure time and he was successful in converting his passion into a career. He began his cooking career by starting catering business Rasoi, The Indian Kitchen. He later on moved to U.S. and joined the staff at Department of Food and Nutrition at New York University's Professional Development and Continuing Education Program.

Saran was the executive chef at Devi, a popular restaurant in New York City which focuses on the flavors of Indian home cooking.

 “India will inspire me for as many lives as I live. It has a million muses for me and I am not even past one yet’’, says this Indian American chef about his native land.
