Dell traces its origins to 1984, when Michael Dell created PCs Limited while as a student of the University of Texas at Austin. By 2001, Dell became the largest computer systems provider in the world.

In 2004, Dell resigned as CEO while the company was making good products and profits. But soon after his origination, Dell went on the downward spiral loosing its market for the rivals like HP and Lenovo, and the advent of Smartphones and tablets made it worse.  Michael Dell returned to his former position as a CEO in February 2007. But did his comeback did really help the once leading PC manufacturing company?

Dell’s worldwide PC market share fell from 15.9 percent in 2006 to just 10.7 percent in 2012 and its shipments took a sudden drop of 10 percent, leading for the company’s buyout plans which are yet in process.
