Although Microsoft introduced Active Desktop as the next big thing, users really felt that they were left out. With constant bugs and frozen machines, Active Desktop really didn’t make it to the cut. Later Windows upgraded this technology in their new OS, but eventually the Active Desktop was clearly replaced with Microsoft’s revolutionary sidebar and gadget tab, which eventually led to its death.

Remember, Rover the dog, yours truly search companion. Microsoft regarded this search idea as their next ground-breaking move in the platform of OS. Although this search tool was a pretty much of a hit across Windows users, but later with the outburst of new technology and new operating systems onto the computer world, the Windows Desktop Search, turned out to be buggy and slow, leading to its death, as Windows changed the search system in Windows Vista with a bar.
