#6 Statoil
The Norwegian oil and gas company Statoil ranks at the sixth position in the list and it dominates its homeland by producing 24 percent of its GDP as profit.
Statoil ASA, formerly known as StatoilHydro, is now trading as Statoil; and it was formed by the merger of Statoil with the oil and gas division of Norsk Hydro in the year 2007. The largest shareholder of the company is the government of Norway with 67 percent of shares and the ownership interest is managed by the Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and Energy.
The company is a fully incorporated petroleum company. It has operations in thirty six countries.
Statoil was ranked by Fortune Magazine as the world’s thirteenth largest Oil and Gas Company in 2010 by revenue; and the largest company in Nordic region by revenue, profit and market capitalization.

Formerly known as the Petroleum Authority of Thailand, the company owns extensive submarine gas pipelines in the Gulf of Thailand, and a network of LPG terminals throughout the Kingdom.
The firm is involved in electricity generation, petro-chemical products, oil and gas exploration and production, and gasoline retailing businesses.
PTT Exploration and Production, PTT Global Chemical and PTT Green Energy are the affiliated companies of the Group.
