9. Pentominium, Dubai

Height When Completed: 1,692.91 feet

The construction of this supertall skyscraper in Dubai is currently on hold. The construction started in July 26, 2009 and the building was supposed to get finished by 2013 before the construction got halted in August 2011. The building is designed by Aedas and funded by Trident International Holdings, and when finished it will have 122 floors out of which only 22 is completed now. The construction contract is awarded to an Arabian Construction Company (ACC) and Pentominium has one of the deepest excavations done in the world which is done by Swissboring Overseas Piling Corp.

Once completed Pentominium will be the tallest all-residential building in the world. Each residential floor in this building will span an area of over 600 square meters which will have 4-bedrooms apartments, swimming pool, an observation deck, a private cinema, a health club, a banqueting hall, a cigar lounge and a business centre.
