How their partnership was formed:

Jobs and Wozniak were childhood friends, first acquainted through a mutual friend and soon grew thick friendship, thanks to their passion for computers. Woz, after attending Homebrew meetings on electronics, started building his own computer board; Jobs took interest in his work (after returning from India, a disillusioned hippie).

In a 2006 interview with the Seattle Times, Woz explained, "I was just doing something I was very good at, and the thing that I was good at turned out to be the thing that was going to change the world...Steve was much more further-thinking. When I designed good things, sometimes he'd say, ‘We can sell this.’ And we did. He was thinking about how you build a company, maybe even then he was thinking, ‘How do you change the world?’”

 Why their partnership works:

Along with being childhood friends, they had this passion for computers. They worked to transform the garage based company in to giant of Cupertino. According to Woz, they were good friends without arguments.
