Market that smuggle drugs alone accounts for about 600 billion U.S. dollars and about 1.5 trillion dollars are laundered through legitimate businesses, reports Mike Floorwalker of Listverse.

1.  Primates

While animal poaching has always been on the rise, illegal trafficking of primates is getting popular among crooks as it lends hefty amounts every year. These primates are shipped to different countries either for research purpose or for consumption.

According to a report by United Nations, within the time span of around 8 years from 2005 till date, about 22,000 apes have been poached or killed in poaching related issues. About thousands are transported to U.S. for biomedical research every year. The trade generates about $10 billion annually.
