10 Most Powerful People in 2012

5 Pope Benedict XVI
Pope Benedict XVI is the 265th Pope, and how does that make him powerful. As seen he has the ‘supreme, immediate, full and universal power’ over the souls of 1.2 billion Catholics across the world. He serves as the sovereign of the Vatican City state and also the head of the Catholic Church. He has the most profound influence over the Catholics. He takes many of the important personal decisions which include marriage, birth control, abortion and euthanasia. However, there are popular disregards to the Pope’s notion like the recent ‘radical feminist’ American nuns.

6 Ben Bernanke
Ben Bernanke is the present Chairman of the Federal Reserve, the central bank of the U.S. Bernanke has been buying big time this year. In their third cycle of quantitative reduction; the Fed Reserve is bagging the $40 billion a month of mortgage backed securities and the $45 billion of Treasuries. This has resulted in moderate economic recovery plus a close record of $2.8 trillion on the Fed Reserve’s balance sheet. However, as recently warned by the American economy’s ‘adult in the room’ that this is all Fed can do to salvage the repressed economy and the rest depends upon the politicians to make it over the fiscal cliff.
